Workforce Development

There are 6 core federal workforce development and training programs authorized under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), signed into law in 2014, which also coordinate with each other significantly. WIOA supersedes the Workforce Investment Act of 1998 and amends the Adult Education and Family Literacy Act, the Wagner-Peyser Act, and the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. The Act also authorizes a number of other programs, including the Job Corps program, the YouthBuild program, Native American Programs, and Migrant and Seasonal Farmworker programs.
